Welcome to Kiwicaching! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Kiwicaching
Kiwicaching has evolved out of the demand by Cachers in New Zealand for a community based support structure.

Its purposes are to:
  • Promote Geocaching within New Zealand.
  • Provide a support network for New Zealand Resident, Expatriate and other Geocachers who are Members.
  • Establish good caching practises and guidelines in conjunction with Members, land owners, environmental, historical and other relevant bodies, for both Members and non-members.
  • Do anything necessary or helpful to the above purposes.

To become a Kiwicacher, there are a few simple things to do.

  1. Register with Geocaching.com.
  2. Find and log a cache - a real one, not a virtual or event cache.
  3. Be a New Zealand Resident or Expatriate or have demonstratable links to geocaching in New Zealand.
  4. Pay the annual fees of $10 per individual or $15 per family (where two or more cachers typically cache under the same Geocaching Profile name)
An Individual membership has one vote. A Family membership has up to two votes.

There is a no cost option as well. There are no associated voting rights and certain parts of the web site are unavailable.

Please read the Association Rules.

The Association also has a Code of Ethics. These are not rules, but rather some guidelines to promote Excellence in Geocaching. However, under some circumstances, Kiwicachers who behave unethically may find themselves in breach of the rules.
