HK Geo Kiwi again sent me an interesting link: This time to GPS Mission Planning on the Maritime Geocaching Association web site forums.

The article in the forums shows how to ensure that the relevant satellites are in their optimum position for the area you are in, for the best accuracy in placing a cache. It is written for the east coast of Canada, but the principle is the same. So no more wondering 'where all the satellites have gone'...
